A Better
Assurance: A death sentence was passed upon
Claes Lecks for the crime of rejecting infant

Elizabeth - The Lord's Handmaiden: Elizabeth was
apprehended on the 15th of January, 1549.
When those who had come to apprehend her entered the
house in which she lived, they found a Latin
Testament. Having secured Elizabeth, they said, �We
have got the right man; we have now the teacheress;� -
Eternal Joy With Him:
Felix Mantz was also an originator of the Reformation of the faith, in
Germany, and when he, with great zeal, practiced, taught, and preached,
the recognized truth of the gospel, he was envied, accused, and
imprisoned by his adversaries, and finally drowned at Zurich, for the
evangelical truth, thus becoming a witness of the sufferings of Christ.
This occurred in the year of our Lord 1526. -

Now to the Holy City: Fear fell upon the
executioner on Palm Sunday eve of the year 1545 when
Francis of Bolsweert could seemingly not be
strangled nor completely consumed by fire.

To It With My Blood: A.D. 1527, Thomas Hermann, a minister of the
Gospel and Word of God, was executed. Some persons had been apprehended
at Kitzbuehl, and, through the tyranny of the authorities, had been
brought to apostatize from the truth.

Thank the Baptists for Freedom of Worship: Persecution of the
Baptists did not cease with the Roman Catholic church but it continued
with the Protestants. Baptists, however, stood for liberty of
conscience, not only for themselves, but they also stood for the freedom
of Catholics, Jews, Turks, Protestants and heretics to worship God
according to their conscience without the intervention of government.

- George Abbot: George Abbot,
Archbishop of Canterbury and one of the translators of the King James
Bible, was born on October 29, 1562, in Guildford (of Surrey, England;
burial place of Lewis Carroll). He entered Baliol College, Oxford, in
1578, was made Master of University College, and was made Dean of
Winchester in 1599.

Jacques Abbadie:
Jacques Abbadie was born about 1654 at Nay in Bearn (SW
France) and studied at Saumur and Sedan. He was the
pastor of the French Protestant church at Berlin. His small
congregation grew quickly after the revocation of the edict
of Nantes in France in 1685 caused a large-scale emigration
of the Huguenots into Brandenburg.

Kindled With Zeal:

upon faith in Christ, entering upon obedience towards His holy

the fire, and burned.
