INTRODUCTION: God will judge sin and defend His honour. Though God often delays to judge man for sin (Ecclesiastes 8:11Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
See All...), this should never be taken as weakness or lack of conviction. God delays punishment in order to give men a longer time in which to repent. The goodness of His forbearance should lead to repentance (Romans 2:4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
See All...).
God will not always delay judgment and when He acts, He does so swiftly. 2 Peter 2:1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
See All... teaches that those who deny Him bring upon themselves “swift destruction.” We must know God will indeed judge sins and will bring sudden destruction on the guilty (1 Thessalonians 5:3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
See All...). We must make sure that our sins are under the blood of Christ as concerning our salvation and that we repent of and confess our daily sins.
