INTRODUCTION: David gives a final message of instruction to Solomon and to the congregation of Israel. They anoint Solomon the second time as king over Israel (1 Chronicles 29:22And did eat and drink before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest.
See All...). David turns the kingdom over to him and completes his long and successful reign over the people of God. We can learn much from David’s faith, his preparation for the temple, his encouragement of Solomon and the congregation, and his peaceable transfer of power to his son.
