The Responsibility of Restoration

Scripture Passage:
Galatians 6:1-5

Introduction:  What happens when a brother or sister in the Lord falls by the wayside?  How are God’s people supposed to react?  What is the main goal of the believer pertaining to the fallen brother or sister?

  1. THE FALL (Galatians 6:1)
    1. A Man
      1. Who had been trying to live for the Lord, for he was “overtaken”
      2. Who had an area of weakness
    2. Overtaken in a Fault
      1. Can be a sin
      2. Can be a crime
      3. Can be guilt
      4. Can be a weakness
    3. The Power of Temptation (Hebrews 11:32-38; Hebrews 11:37)
  2. THE RESTORATION (Galatians 6:1-2)
    1. By the Spiritual
      1. The spiritual are strong (Romans 15:1)
      2. The spiritual man will be established (Romans 1:11)
      3. The spiritual man judgeth all things (1 Corinthians 2:15)
      4. The spiritual man acknowledges the Bible as the commandments of God (1 Corinthians 14:37)
    2. In the Spirit of Meekness
      1. Connected to love (1 Corinthians 4:21)
      2. Connected to humility (2 Corinthians 10:1; 2 Timothy 2:24-26)
  3. THE CONSIDERATION (Galatians 6:1-5)
    1. Considering Thyself (Romans 12:3; 1 Corinthians 10:12)
    2. Lest Thou Also be Tempted

Conclusion:  Do you have a heart for fallen brothers and sisters?  How many more people could possibly be serving faithfully in local churches had someone had a burden for their restoration?  Will you be a spiritual believer with a heart for restoration?
