Introduction:  Thankfulness is not just an outward praise given to God.  Thankfulness begins in the heart and always forces its presence to be known on the outside.  Thankfulness, though, must begin in our hearts based on our contentment for what we have in this life.  Contentment is a precious gift and one that the scriptures say must be learned.  It is not merely satisfaction, but it is a joyous peace that what we have is exactly what we are supposed to have and that nothing else could top it.

3. CONTENTMENT WILL LEAD TO THANKSGIVING 

Conclusion:  The opposite of contentment is covetousness and rebellion.  The product of being content is a thankful heart.  Covetousness is said in the scriptures to be idolatry, yet a thankful heart will yield praises to God.  Which do you think He would want from you?  Will you yield yourself to learn to be therewith content?
